Green Isle Seafood is Ireland’s largest processor of white fish with 3,000 metric tonne annual production capacity. Green Isle Seafood is home to Donegal Catch, launched in 1987 is Ireland’s favourite frozen fish brand.*

Founded in 1984 and now part of the 2 Sisters Food Group, Green Isle Seafood operates from a BRC (Grade A) approved facility in County Sligo, Ireland. Our team of sixty specialist staff work with a wide range of species for a diverse customer group, targeting the wholesale, foodservice and retail sectors throughout Europe.

Our Business

Green Isle Seafood has direct supply contracts in place with fishing cooperatives and receives deliveries of responsibly sourced, fresh fish daily from many of Ireland’s fishing ports.

The principal Irish wildcaught species we work with are:

  • Whiting
  • Haddock
  • Hake
  • Mackerel
  • Monkfish
  • Plaice
  • Black Pollock

Once delivered to the plant, the fish is mechanically de-finned, filleted, skinned and IQF frozen within hours of arrival - locking in all the fish’s natural goodness and quality. We also work with farmed Irish Organic Salmon and with Norwegian Line-caught MSC certified Cod. The plant offers a wide range of packaging, storage and delivery solutions.

Sustainability

We want the name Green Isle to be synonymous with sustainability and since we have been enrolled as a fully verified member in Origin Green it has shown our customers throughout Europe that we have taken sustainability into the core of our business and are willing to have our efforts screened and measured to demonstrate this commitment.

Green Isle Seafood is a proud member of “Responsible Irish Fish” an organisation established to promote responsible and sustainable catching of Irish fish.
